On April 3rd, King County Bar Foundation (KCBF) hosted its annual fund raiser, the Breakfast With Champions. Approximately 1,000 guests attended the early morning event at the Westin Hotel in downtown Seattle. Among the guests were justices, judges, elected officials, donors, KCBF trustees, and many members of the local legal community. After hearing remarks from Governor Christine Gregoire, the crowd was inspired to action by the harrowing and heroic tale of keynote speaker Paul Rusesabagina, the real Hotel Rwanda manager.
The Champion of Diversity and Champion of Justice awards were presented to KCBF’s recently retired Development Director, Ginna Owens. Guests were invited to make donations to support KCBF funded pro bono legal services and diversity programs.
