Minority Law Student Scholarships
“I grew up on the Lummi Indian Reservation and can remember having no water or electricity, much less a phone or TV. The thought of attending university seemed a world away... I didn’t know one person who was a college graduate...more than half of the kids I went to kindergarten with dropped out before graduation.”
    2004 KCBF Scholarship Recipient

Your donation to King County Bar Foundation will help students of color who might otherwise not have a chance to attend law school.

KCBF’s minority law student scholarship program is a continuation of one that began in 1970 when King County Bar Association allocated funds to give scholarships to minority law students at the University of Washington. That year the allocation was $10,000. In 2006, the allocation grew to $125,000, divided between the University of Washington and Seattle University law schools. More than 400 students have benefited from this program and more than 50% of these exceptional students are now practicing in King County.
